Faux Pas Le Fae - Head of the Educational Committee

Faux Pas le Fae is believed to be the reincarnation of Ruth St. Denis. She is a Transgender Circus Sideshow Artist, Choreographer, Host/Comedienne, Writer and Feminist Faerie advocate for social evolution. Faux is one half of The Brides with her wife Aurora North. Together they direct Kinetic Cabaret Productions which produces Pixie Grit Circus Sideshow, EAT ME! A Variety Show, and QUEER Coney. She has trained at the world famous Coney Island USA Sideshow School, and received her mentorship in Kurt Jooss/Tanztheater and German Expressionism under Diana Moore. Faux apprenticed with Neil Hess and Hector Serrano in the arts of Mellow Drama and Clowning, and Guy P. Yates was her mentor for comedy and public speaking. In addition, she has studied on scholarship at Pennsylvania Ballet, and Gus Giordano Jazz Dance/Chicago. Faux received an MFA in Dance and Composition from Sam Houston State University, and a Bachelors of Science in Dance, Anatomy and Kinesiology from Texas Tech University. She went on to earn a certification from PEAK Pilates as part of the founding class under the tutelage of Master Teacher Colleen Glenn, and trained under the guidance of Amy Ell in the art of Thai Massage. Major performance credits include The Coney Island USA Sideshow, Seán Curran Company, Ballet Preljocaj’s “Paysage apres la bataille" at The Joyce, Justin Vivian Bond’s House of Whimsy at The Kitchen, as well as appearances at The Southern Sideshow Hootenanny, The International New York Fringe, HotFest at Dixon Place, and Philly Fringe. She is a cast member at The Box NYC & Soho London, and performs regularly at The Slipper Room and House Of Yes. Faux is a sought after host, known for her sharp insight and relatable humorous style. She teaches and choreographs throughout the country, and is a 2015 CUNY Dance Initiative recipient and a 2016 Jerome Robbins Foundation Artist In Residence Grant at Dixon Place.
